We are working on words with the om spelling/sound. Students are expected to know how to spell each of these 10 words correctly, as well as knowing what they mean so they are able to match them to their English meaning. Now that it is term 2, we will also have a sentence to practice.
For the test de dictée next week, students will have to spell each of the 10 words using correct letter size, capitalization if necessary, and appropriate symbols (accents, apostrophes, etc.), as well as writing correctly the sentence we practiced, employing proper capitalization, punctuation, spelling, and accents.
There is a second (bonus) sentence for any students who want an extra challenge. The bonus sentence is completely optional!
une trompe (a trunk (of an elephant))
une colombe (a dove)
sombre (dark)
compter (to count)
un nombre (a number)
une bombe (a bomb)
l'ombre (the shade/shadow)
un compas (a compass)
tomber (to fall)
une pompe (a pump)
La phrase :
La colombe blanche tombe du ciel bleu et atterrit dans l'ombre de la grande trompe de l'éléphant gris.
La phrase boni :
Je sors après le coucher du soleil quand il fait sombre et je compte les étoiles; elles sont trop nombreuses à compter !
