For our thirtieth dictée, we are focusing on words with the sound eu/œu. The following 10 terms are the vocabulary for this week's dictée, as well as the silly sentence (la phrase drôle). Throughout the week, students are to practice reading and writing the words and the sentence, and also understanding what they mean.
We will also have a bonus sentence (la phrase boni). If your child is doing well with the main sentence, I encourage them to practice the bonus sentence as well. (It will not be counted toward their grade if there are errors.)
The test will be Tuesday, June 14. For the test, students are expected to use correct letter size, spacing, accents, spelling, and punctuation.
jeudi (Thursday)
une fleur (a flower)
une queue (a tail)
l'heure (the time, the hour)
le beurre (butter)
un œuf (an egg)
un nœud (a knot)
une sœur (a sister)
le bœuf (beef)
le cœur (heart)
La phrase drôle :
Ce jeudi, je veux neuf fleurs et un œuf bleu. (This Thursday, I want nine flowers and a blue egg.)
La phrase boni :
À quelle heure Maître Renard pleure-t-il pour sa queue ? (What time does Mister Fox cry for his tail?)
