For our twenty-sixth dictée, we are focusing on words with the S = Z sound (one S that makes a Z sound). The following 10 terms are the vocabulary for this week's dictée, as well as the silly sentence (la phrase drôle). Throughout the week, students are to practice reading and writing the words and the sentence, and also understanding what they mean.
We will also have a bonus sentence (la phrase boni). If your child is doing well with the main sentence, I encourage them to practice the bonus sentence as well. (It will not be counted toward their grade if there are errors.)
The test will be Tuesday, May 17. For the test, students are expected to use correct letter size, spacing, accents, spelling, and punctuation.
la cuisine (kitchen)
un cousin, une cousine (a cousin)
un voisin, une voisine (a neighbour)
le paysage (scenery, landscape)
la prison (prison, jail)
la saison (season)
une chemise (a shirt)
une rose (a rose)
un raisin (a grape)
une église (a church)
La phrase drôle :
Mon voisin livre des roses à l'église pour le mariage. (My neighbour is delivering roses to the church for the wedding.)
La phrase boni :
Par la fenêtre de la cuisine, je vois un beau paysage des roses.
(Through the kitchen window, I see a beautiful landscape of roses.)
