For our sixteenth dictée, we are focusing on words with the sound AM. The following 10 terms are the vocabulary for this week's dictée, as well as the silly sentence (la phrase drôle). Throughout the week, students are to practice reading and writing the words and the sentence, and also understanding what they mean.
We will also have a bonus sentence (la phrase boni) instead of bonus words this term. If your child is doing well with the main sentence, I encourage them to practice the bonus sentence as well. (It will not be counted toward their grade if there are errors.)
The test will be Tuesday, Feb. 8. For the test, students are expected to use correct letter size, spacing, accents, spelling, and punctuation.
une lampe (a lamp)
le jambon (ham)
un champion (a champion)
un campeur (a camper)
une jambe (a leg)
une ampoule (a lightbulb, a blister)
une ambulance (an ambulance)
un champ (a field)
une chambre (a bedroom)
une rampe (a bannister or handrail)
La phrase drôle :
Je remplace l'ampoule de la lampe dans ma chambre parce qu'elle n'allume plus.
I am replacing the lightbulb in my bedroom lamp because it doesn't work anymore.
La phrase boni :
Le pauvre campeur va en ambulance à l'hôpital parce qu'il est tombé et s'est cassé la jambe.
The poor camper is going by ambulance to the hospital because he fell and broke his leg.
